A new study at Johns Hopkins University has found that prenatal SSRI exposure was almost three times more likely in boys with autism spectrum disorders – risk was highest with exposure in the first trimester. Prenatal exposure to SSRIs in boys also resulted in higher rates of developmental delays; risk was highest with exposure during the third trimester.
